Things to Do in Queenston
If you are interested in learning about the history of Queenston, visit the Laura Secord homestead. Laura Secord is a Canadian hero because of her bravery to trek 20 miles, taking over 18 hours, to warn Canadian troops of an invasion. In 2003, Laura Secord was designated a Person of National Historic Significance by the Minister of Canadian Heritage for her heroic actions during the War of 1812. A tour of the homestead is a great way to spend an afternoon learning all about her.
Queenston Heights Park is another historic must see. It's a beautiful place to bring a picnic or take a walk, with facilities that include two picnic pavilions, washrooms, a children's splash pad, tennis courts, a band shell, a snack bar, and a children's playground.
